Social enterprise What Happens Now are working with us to provide a free canal trip to some P4 pupils. The interactive and fun-filled session aims to empower young people to explore the topic of active travel through drama, performance and games.

Musical Storytelling with Lesley O’Brien
Tuesday 22 August 2023, 11am and 1pm – free to attend, but booking required

Interactive storytelling with song and guitar, exploring the delights and difficulties of travel, nature, dreams, and friendships. Open to all ages. Lesley will also be performing with her band Carlton Jug Band on the Sunday of the festival, so this is a chance to see her in a more intimate setting before the buzz of the weekend.

Tales on the Water – storytelling to transport you to other worlds
Wednesday 23 August, 11am and 1pm – free to attend but booking required

A leisurely sail along the canal with stories to transport passengers to other worlds. Allison Galbraith spins folktales that relate to our walking, running and sailing ancestors. She is looking for cycling stories and hopes you can bring your own bicycle tales to share on our boat trip. Suitable for ages seven and over.

Fish Tea on the Canal
Thursday 24 August, 5pm to 7pm – £17 advance booking required
